An effective school facility is responsive to the changing programs of educational delivery, and at a minimum should provide a physical environment that is comfortable, safe, secure, accessible, well illuminated, well ventilated, and aesthetically pleasing.
The school facility is much more than a passive container of the educational process: it is, rather, an integral component of the conditions of learning. The layout and design of a facility contributes to the place experience of students, educators, and community members. Depending on the quality of its design and management, the facility can contribute to a sense of ownership, safety and security, personalization and control, privacy as well as sociality, and spaciousness or crowdedness.
Students are provided with individual bed and mattress, cabinet for clothes and shoes, study table, a chair, and book shelves. There are three occupants to a room. The rooms have built-in air conditioner. Personal necessities. Restrooms with bath are common facilities located inside each rooms. SMEAG Dormitory have a total of 33 rooms (16 rooms for boys and 17 rooms for girls).
Each room has the following : 2 Bunk Beds, Refrigerator, Shoe Rack, Cabinet, Korean/Study Table, and Air Conditioner.
There are laundry women who offer laundry services from Mondays to Saturdays and change the blankets in every room once a week.
Security and Maintenance
The Residence Halls provides 24-hour security assistance through the lady and male guards. There is also a full-time maintenance team for minor repairs of dormitory facilities. However, students are expected to clean up their own rooms.
Student Lounge/ Function Room
The lounge/Function Room is located in the 1st floor of the SMEAG Dormitory. They can play games, watch television, and enjoy the WiFi. Their schedules are listed below:

Pathway University Campus Tour
Pathways come in all shapes and sizes, meaning there’s an option to suit you. You might start out in a tertiary enabling program, which equip students with the skills to pursue university study; complete a streamed foundation studies course with entry into the corresponding bachelor degree; try your hand at a single subject before enrolling into a full degree; enroll at a lower-demand university with the intention to transfer; or pursue a lower-level qualification in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

|Trousers||Plain black tailored trousers. The trousers must have a hem and not be frayed or have a wide or narrow bottom. Trousers should not be denim, cord, lycra material or hipster style. The bottom of trousers should sit on the shoe and not cling to the leg.|
Girls – White shirt-type blouse with plain, undecorated collar. Not polo or lycra style.
Boys – Plain white shirt – not polo shirt.
|Shoes||Plain black shoes (not open-toe design, trainers, pump or canvas shoes, no stilettos, mules or sling backs, a proper heel not greater than 4cm – no coloured laces or stitching). Trainers are only allowed if accompanied by a doctor’s note. Please note boots are not allowed. A Kickers style shoe is permitted but lacing and stitches should be black.|
|Socks/Tights||Girls – Black knee socks or tights in black
Boys – Black socks.
|Tie||House ties in relevant house colour with woven logo – only available from our supplier, SWI. The top button must be fastened and the tie knot placed at the collar of the shirt. The school and house crests should sit just below the knot.|
|Belts||Only plain black belts are acceptable.|
|Hair||Students having long hair must fasten it back in laboratories and practical rooms and for PE. Extreme hairstyles will not be tolerated (no hair shorter than number 2, no shapes cut into hair, no unnatural colours or unnatural combinations). Hair may be worn in small plaits where little scalp is visible provided the whole head of hair is plaited. Plaited hair must be fastened at the back. The school reserves the right to make the final decision on what constitutes an extreme hairstyle.|
|Make-up||Students are not allowed to wear make-up in Years 7, 8 and 9. Discreet make-up is permitted in Years 10 and 11. Nail varnish or false nails are not allowed.|
Students must wear proper black leather or leather look shoes and not trainers.
The school will participate in the uniform grant scheme via the Education Transport and awards team at Essex County Council.
Outside of classes, we provide a variety of support services for students. This includes helping them effectively plan their academic schedule, providing counselling and learning support, navigating university applications and providing computer services.
Learning resource support helps students conquer obstacles to their academic success. For some students, this help is in the form of workshops and coaching to improve study skills, note-taking and time management. Other students may require more specific support due to learning differences.
Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Whether students are gifted or they struggle with specific learning challenges, our learning resource support program helps all learners reach their full potential.
Individual Education Plans are usually developed when students have undergone a psycho-educational assessment, and are based on recommendations from the psychologist. Learning resource specialists offer many different kinds of support, which include accommodations for testing, assistance with note-taking, providing access to assistive technology, and regularly scheduled meetings to discuss issues and review progress.
Learning Resources at the Senior School
Senior School has a dedicated staff of learning resource specialists to provide our students with the tools and skills they need to reach their potential. These are just some of the ways our learning resource specialists help our students:
o Work with subject teachers to address a student’s learning obstacles;
o Help plan student transitions;
o Develop and implement programs for students with low-incidence disabilities;
o Apply assistive technology; and
o Understand and work with students with social and emotional difficulties.
Levels of support vary by need. Some students benefit from help with organization, time management, study skills, and specific-subject support, while others require special support or enrichment.
At the Senior School, our learning resource specialists also offer note-taking services, thanks to a group of student volunteers who share their class notes with peers.
Many factors can affect students’ well-being and their ability to keep up with their academic responsibilities. Our counsellors offer students the support and resources necessary for them to achieve academic, personal, and social well-being.
The Senior School and boarding community each have their own dedicated counsellors. Our main objective is to ensure our students have every opportunity to be successful in school. Counselling is confidential unless we believe the student is at risk. Our counsellors will also work with parents, but as students get older and more independent, they become our primary focus.
We feel it’s important to make sure each student that joins our school is made to feel welcome and receives the right information and support as they adjust to a new school or a new phase of their SMUS education.
Students who are new to Senior School have a dedicated orientation assembly on the first day of classes, and there is an information evening in September where new Senior School parents have the opportunity to find out more about life and learning at the secondary level.
SMEAG Global School Inc., Kitchen & Dining offers a variety of freshly prepared Asian food (Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Filipino, etc.) and serves hot & healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack. The food here is the center force of SMEAG Tarlac Campus.
